With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Brad is a highly skilled and hands-on leader known for his extensive expertise in construction management, commercial and residential projects, and demolition. Since embarking on his career in 1992 after graduating from Calvin University with a Bachelor of Arts, Brad has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and innovation across various construction sectors.
Brad’s journey in construction began early, with formative experiences framing houses at the age of 16, guided by his father, and working in lumber yards during summer breaks. After earning his degree, he moved to Denver, where he launched and successfully operated a residential and multifamily framing business. Returning to Grand Rapids, he continued to build on his expertise by founding another thriving construction business that specialized in residential and commercial framing, including custom home construction.
Before joining Paragon Construction, Brad spent over a decade in project management roles, overseeing remodels for prominent clients such as Meijer Superstores and Gordon Foods Stores, as well as various other projects throughout the Midwest. His impressive track record includes managing multimillion-dollar budgets, leading commercial and residential take-offs, and ensuring strict adherence to OSHA standards.
As the Senior Construction Manager at Paragon, Brad excels in directing project execution, coordinating cross-functional teams, and managing cost analysis to maximize budget efficiency. His proficiency in sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and optimizing scheduling enhances workflow and project delivery. Brad’s meticulous approach guarantees adherence to project specifications and client satisfaction through detailed supervision and comprehensive final walk-throughs.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brad is an avid skier with a passion for outdoor activities like cycling and hiking. He is dedicated to giving back through community service and deeply values the time he spends with his family. His daughter, a registered nurse, and his son, who majoring in chemistry with a minor in energy at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO, are a central part of his life. Brad also finds great joy in traveling, especially when sharing those experiences with his longtime girlfriend.
